CREATING COURAGE IN BRONZE FORM
Arturo Di Modica left his native Italy to come to New York in 1973. He left an anonymous gift to his new country, one of the most recognized sculptures in the world, the Charging Bull, which graces the entrance of the New York Stock Exchange. He is creating the “Horses of Ippari” to be built in Ragusa, two tall horses each more than 90 ft. in height, that will form a monumental soaring archway through the Sicilian landscape and over the Ippari River, unlike anything ever seen. When completed, it will be the largest sculpture in Italy and all of Europe.
