Hannah Selleck first rode a horse at the age of four, learning the basics of jumping and horsemanship basics at the historic Foxfield Riding School while growing up in Westlake Village, California, with her actor parents Tom Selleck and Jillie Mack. Selleck claimed multiple titles and championships as a young rider, including the USEF Talent Search Medal Finals on W.C. Swing in 2008 and the Team Silver Medal at the Prix des States in 2005. But her most memorable achievements have been the Individual and Team Gold Medals at the 2008 North American Young Rider Championships. In addition to competing, Selleck also manages a boutique breeding business at her family’s Descanso Farm in Thousand Oaks, California. The broodmares are Selleck’s former top Grand Prix and equitation mounts, bred with the purpose of supplying Selleck’s competition string but also to sell.
